Poslaju
Let’s talk about good things first. I have been using poslaju since day one when we started our business. I must say, so far I am personally extremely satisfied with poslaju’s service.
There was a period when they started increasing then subsequently decreased their pricing, then increased the prices again during their old management. So as a customer, naturally we get irritated at the fluctuating prices, fluctuating like a roller-coaster over short period of time. During then, I also heard poslaju was struggling financially to make profit as it was announced in the news. This was during the pre-covid19 days. It seemed to me poslaju’s top management was somewhat confused on how to overcome their financial challenges.
So, upon knowing this I felt it would be wiser to seek alternatives as Poslaju’s management style did not induce much confidence in me. Other local & foreign owned companies came to mind, like DHL, Citilink, GDex, etc. I sourced basically almost all of them, then I found J&T being the most economically for a small business like mine. So without hesitation, I engaged their services, introduced it as part of my business’ services. This is where we move on to the next topic below.
J&T
Immediately after I engaged J&T, I noticed their delivery time was way behind poslaju. You see, poslaju clocked and averaged delivery time of 2-4 days within Malaysia (to all states). Yes, impressive right? It surprised me too back then. Sometimes they can even surprise you with 2 day delivery! Meaning if you hand your parcel to the counter today, by tomorrow your customer receives it. Yes! No joke! But on some very slim and unlucky chance, they might drag until 7 days, but very, very rare. So, 7 days is tops for a slow delivery timeframe. And even that is extremely rare. So kudos to poslaju, our national courier. You have my support!
Now, for J&T, I noticed via the online tracking, all the parcels that was handed over to J&T, always, and I REALLY mean ALWAYS tend to take a 3 days / 2 nights holiday excursion in Kuching J&T warehouses before jumping out of Sarawak, to their respective destined states in the country. Why? Go santubong holiday 2 nights before taking flight out kah? So their delivery timeframe averaged around 5 to 7 days at best, their worst can go up to 2 weeks! Yup! 2 appalling long weeks.
Also, parcels delivered by J&T usually suffers from dents and hard handling. This puzzled me very much. Before long, I decided, this is not going to work. My customers do not like to wait unnecessarily neither to receive dented parcels. So I decided to disengage J&T completely after a short period of time.
Lo & behold, just shortly after I stopped using J&T, horrible news & videos spewed across social media on how J&T staffs horrendously mishandled their parcels. We all know, heard & seen those news ya. So I never gave J&T a second thought since then.
Only until quite recently, I was asked by numerous customers why I did not use J&T. Some of my customers even encouraged me & gave good feedbacks on how they trusted J&T, good service la, this and that. So I thought, maybe J&T improved right? On top of that J&T even provided COD delivery. Wow, that’s nice. So again, I got sucked in. I enrolled J&T for the second time. And that was just in December 2021. I am writing this article on 21 Jan 2022. Just shy of 2 months.
Within this approximately 45 days’ time after using J&T, I have received complains of parcels arriving in extremely bad conditions, very badly dented and damaged boxes. And I even have one parcel taking a 20 day vacation in some J&T warehouse at ‘Taman Melati warehouse’ in peninsular (as per the online tracking shows). As of writing of this article, that parcel is still on vacation at the same Taman. Wow right? Seems that J&T gives lots of vacation to our parcels to rest before moving on.
So, any idiot would have decided to stop using J&T by now. Not unless they want to ‘kena pisang goreng’ by customers. P/s, I like pisang goreng, but I don’t like to ‘kena goreng’, so naturally I stopped using J&T. LOL 😆
And you know what, with the new CEO in poslaju, they have even extended their operating hours to a 6 day week, 8am-7pm. Not bad for a start. Let’s hope good things are here to stay. (But unfortunately covid seemed to be staying quite long already 😓)
As always, until the next one. Stay safe, stay healthy, stay young, stay happy, don’t stop collecting!
