Just my sharing & opinions.
With the recent new release of Bandai’s SHFiguarts Shinkouchou Seihou version of Kamen Rider Black, I’ve noticed couple of facebook posts complaining about the rubber parts breaking or cracking on their expensively prized SHFiguarts Kamen rider black SKC.
I own one too & this is what I’ve done to prevent or at least maintain the figure. It’s been over a month and so far I’ve not seen at “cracking” on the rubber parts on my figure though. Although I just display it in my display cabinet without playing with it much. Occasionally changing it’s poses from time to time..
Use this or something similar. Its a silicone spray that we use on the rubber parts of our automobile. Spray it on your brand new figure’s rubber parts. Leave it for a day to let it sink into the rubber parts. That’s it! It should do the trick Than you can stretch and articulate the rubber parts all you want…without cracking. It’s a bloody miracle 🤣
Cheap & simple solution. No more whining & complaining…
However, in my experience, some brands will leave a oily residue. I don’t mind it as I know it actually lubricates and protects the material it sets on. But… (And a big but) if you’re one of those OCD collectors that need all your hinges & joints super duper tight (tight like a bloody virgin), then be forewarned, you will not like it. As mentioned, some brands has an oily residue, which means it lubricates, and when we say lubricates, it literally lubricates… Get it? 😁
If you think this is for you, then by all means go buy one. You can use it on your other figurines as well. It’s really cheap, costing nothing more than RM10-15 per can. Heck, you can even use it on your bike or car! Sometimes I use it to loosen figurines with overly tight joints (although not many).
Hope you enjoyed this article.
Up next, how to tighten loose joints with a specially brewed joint tightener!
.. until the next one… Chao baby!
